Au Cap primary receive donation of benches |14 June 2025

In a show of community spirit and collaboration, Au Cap primary school received a generous donation of five brand new benches, thanks to a partnership between the Au Cap district administration, the Shreeji Group Seychelles, and the Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) Lions Club.
The donation, which aims to improve the school鈥檚 outdoor environment, provides students with comfortable seating areas where they can relax and connect during their break times.
The initiative was officially unveiled on Friday May 30 during the school鈥檚 Children鈥檚 Day celebrations, attended by school staff, students and special guests including Anandi Hirani, President of the MJF Foundation in Seychelles.
Spearheaded by district administrator Sabrina Assary 鈥 who also serves on the Au Cap School Council 鈥 the project came to life through collaboration with Gopi Dubasia, director of Shreeji Group Seychelles and a well-known visionary entrepreneur. With the support of the MJF Lions Club, globally recognised for its work in education, health, and sustainability, the donation was swiftly realised.
鈥淭his initiative highlights the strong ties between our local institutions and the business community,鈥 said Ms Assary. 鈥淏y facilitating these donations, we aim to create a nurturing environment that benefits our children and encourages others to contribute to similar causes.鈥
The benches symbolise more than just functional furniture 鈥 they showcase what can be achieved when communities, businesses, and civic organisations work hand in hand for the greater good.
The Au Cap district administration has extended its deepest appreciation to both Shreeji Group Seychelles and the MJF Lions Club for their continued generosity and dedication to community service 鈥 a true reflection of the Lions鈥 global motto, 鈥榃e Serve鈥.
Together, these efforts are helping to build a brighter and more supportive future for the children of Seychelles.
