Green sea turtles make a strong comeback

The world has a reason to celebrate 鈥� the graceful marine reptile familiar to Seychelles鈥� beaches, the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), has just achieved a major conservation milestone.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has officially reclassified the species from 鈥淓ndangered鈥� to 鈥淟east Concern鈥� globally, thanks to decades of sustained protection and recovery work.
