Cabinet approves a number of legal and policy memoranda

Vice-President Sebastien Pillay chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, Wednesday, January 14, during which a number of legal and policy memoranda were approved.
Cabinet approved the Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2026, to add February 1, as 鈥楢bolition of Slavery Day鈥� in the list of national public holidays. This means February 1 will officially become a public holiday across Seychelles, in recognition of the historic end of slavery and the importance of commemorating this event nationwide.
