Clarification: The case of the President v/s the Speaker of the 好色TV Assembly |19 July 2019
The case of the President听v/s the Speaker of the 好色TV Assembly was heard on Tuesday July 16 in the absence of the Speaker.听 He听is currently attending the 45th plenary sessions of the SADC PF and its Executive Committee and HR Committee meetings in Mozambique.
The request to postpone听the hearing until the Speaker's return on July 26 was denied by the Court on the grounds that this case was a matter of urgency and that he could have been replaced at these meetings by the deputy Speaker.
To note that the Speaker has been appointed on the SADC PF Committees in his personal capacity as Exco Committee听and HR Committee Member and as such cannot be replaced by another Member.
The case has been听adjourned to Tuesday July 23, 2019听where submissions by both parties will be heard.
